2. Eligibility Criteria
Before applying, candidates must ensure they meet the rigorous eligibility standards set by the commission regarding education and age.
Educational Qualification
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation) in any discipline from a recognized University or educational institution established by law in India, or possess an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
- Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply, provided they submit proof of passing before the Mains Examination phase.
Age Limit (As on 01.01.2027)
- Minimum Age: 21 Years
- Maximum Age: 40 Years (For Non-Gazetted Employees: 25 to 45 Years)
Age Relaxation Rules
Standard Rajasthan state government age relaxations apply: 5 Years for SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS (Male) of Rajasthan and General (Female). 10 Years for SC/ST/OBC/MBC/EWS (Female) of Rajasthan. PwD candidates get relaxations as per specific disability criteria.
3. Application Fee & One Time Registration (OTR)
Rajasthan has implemented the One Time Registration (OTR) system on the SSO portal. If you have already paid the OTR fee previously, you do not need to pay a separate application fee for this exam. If you are registering for the first time, the OTR fees are as follows:

4. Selection Process & Exam Pattern
The RPSC RAS selection is a grueling three-tier process designed to test a candidate’s analytical abilities, general knowledge, and administrative aptitude.
Stage 1: Preliminary Examination (Qualifying)
A single objective-type paper covering General Knowledge and General Science. It consists of 150 questions carrying 200 marks with a duration of 3 hours. There is a negative marking of 1/3rd for every incorrect answer.
Stage 2 & 3: Mains Examination & Interview
Candidates clearing Prelims take the Mains—a descriptive exam featuring 4 papers (General Studies I, II, III, and General Hindi & English), each worth 200 marks (Total 800 marks). Those who clear the Mains are called for a Personality Test / Interview carrying 100 marks.
5. How to Apply Online (Step-by-Step)
Applications will only be accepted online via the Rajasthan Single Sign-On (SSO) system. Follow these steps to apply once the portal is active:
Visit the SSO Portal
Go to the official Rajasthan SSO website: sso.rajasthan.gov.in.
Login or Register
Log in using your existing SSO ID and password. If you are a new user, click on ‘Registration’ and create your SSO ID using Jan Aadhaar (for Rajasthan residents) or Google.
Access Recruitment Portal
Once logged in, navigate to the ‘Citizen Apps (G2C)’ section and click on the Recruitment Portal app.
Complete OTR (If not done)
If you haven’t completed One Time Registration, do so by verifying your basic details via Aadhaar and pay the required one-time fee.
Apply for RAS/RTS 2026
