Eligibility Criteria & Qualifications
1 Educational Qualifications
Candidates applying for the RO, ARO, or CA posts must fulfill the following essential academic requirements:
- Degree: A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in India OR a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
- Computer Qualification: Diploma/Degree in Computer Science from a recognized Institution / University, OR “O” Level Certificate awarded by NIELIT (formerly DOEACC), OR CCC Certificate in Computer Science.
- Typing Speed: A minimum data entry speed of 25 words per minute in English on a computer is mandatory.
2 Age Limit
Candidates must be between 21 to 35 years of age (or 18 to 35 for specific posts as strictly detailed in the notification). Age relaxation is applicable for SC, ST, OBC, Dependents of Freedom Fighters (DFF), Ex-Servicemen (ESM), and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates of Uttar Pradesh as per the High Court and State Government rules.
Selection Procedure (CBT & CKT)
Part-I: Objective Type Test (CBT)
The Computer Based Test will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) covering General Science, History of India, Indian National Movement, Indian Polity, Economy & Culture, Indian Agriculture, Commerce and Trade, Population, Ecology and Urbanization, World Geography, Current National and International Important Events, General Aptitude, Special Knowledge regarding Uttar Pradesh, and General English & General Hindi of Graduation Level.
Part-II: Computer Knowledge Test (CKT)
Candidates will be provided a text in English (approx. 500 words) on the computer which they shall be required to reproduce on the computer in the same format. This test evaluates both the candidate’s data entry speed (minimum 25 WPM) and accuracy. Marks are deducted for spelling mistakes, omissions, and formatting errors. Both Part-I and Part-II are typically conducted in a single shift with a short gap.
