Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must carefully check the educational qualifications and age limits before applying. Final year students are also eligible provided they submit their final mark sheet by the specified date.

1. Educational Qualification

• Engineering Disciplines (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, E&T, Industrial): B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc (Engg.) in the relevant branch of Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
• System: Recognized 1st Class Degree in B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science / IT OR an MCA degree.
• Geology: M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with a minimum of 60% marks.
• Rajbhasha (Hindi): M.A. in Hindi with a minimum of 60% marks, and Graduation with Hindi and English as main subjects with 50% marks.
• Company Secretary: Graduate in any discipline and having acquired the Company Secretary qualification with Associate/Fellow Membership of ICSI.
• Note: For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the minimum qualifying marks are relaxed to 55%.

2. Age Limit (As on 30.04.2026)

• Maximum Upper Age Limit: 30 Years (for General/UR and EWS).
• Age Relaxations:
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 Years (Max age 33 years)
  • SC / ST: 5 Years (Max age 35 years)
  • PwBD (General/EWS): 10 Years

Application Fee

The application fee must be paid purely through the online mode during the registration process. CIL will not accept offline payments.

Salary Structure & Probation

Selected candidates will undergo rigorous training for one year.

• Training Period: Placed as Management Trainee in E-1 Grade at the initial Basic Pay of ₹60,000/- per month.
• Post-Training: On successful completion of the 1-year training period, candidates will be regularized as Officers in E-2 Grade with a pay scale of ₹70,000 – ₹2,00,000/-, along with massive PSU perks including DA, HRA, Performance Related Pay (PRP), medical facilities, and gratuity.

Selection Process: CBT Exam Pattern

Unlike some previous drives, this specific recruitment of 660 MTs relies on a Single Computer-Based Test (CBT) without any personal interview round.

1. Computer Based Test (CBT): The exam will test both general aptitude and professional knowledge. It consists of two papers (100 MCQs each) conducted in a single 3-hour sitting. There is NO negative marking.
2. Document Verification (DV): Candidates who clear the CBT cutoff will be called directly for DV based on merit.
3. Initial Medical Examination (IME): A standard PSU medical fitness check before the final joining letter.
