I. Specialist Grade II (Junior Scale)
Essential Educational Qualifications:
- A recognized MBBS degree qualification included in the First, Second, or Part II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.
- A Postgraduate qualification e.g., M.D. / M.S. / D.M. in the respective specialty (Anaesthesiology, Cardiology, Medicine, Nephrology, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Radio-Diagnosis) or a recognized qualification equivalent thereto.
Essential Experience:
- For MD/MS Holders: Three years of experience in a recognized institution in the concerned specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree.
- For D.M. Holders (Cardiology/Nephrology): One year of experience after obtaining D.M. (if it was a 2-year or 5-year course). No experience is required if the D.M. was a 3-year or 6-year course.
II. General Duty Medical Officer (GDMO)

Age Relaxation Guidelines
The crucial date for determining the upper age limit is 01.07.2026. Age relaxation beyond the upper limit is permissible as follows:

- OBC: 3 Years
- PwBD (UR/EWS): 10 Years
- PwBD + OBC: 13 Years

5. Selection Process & Examination Pattern
The selection process will primarily consist of a Written Test (Computer Based Test – CBT) followed by a Personal Interview. However, if the number of applications received is limited, JIPMER reserves the discretionary right to select candidates via Direct Interview without conducting a CBT.
